Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using DocLine ("Service") at www.docline.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
DocLine provides deadline intelligence and document date extraction. You can upload PDFs, paste HTML, enter URLs, or use our bookmark to capture web content. We use AI to detect deadlines, hearings, filings, and expiration dates. You can review detected dates and sync approved events to Google Calendar. The Service also supports generating consolidated PDFs from multiple sources.
3. Account and Registration
You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information.
4. Subscription and Payments
Certain features require a paid subscription (Starter or Professional). Subscription terms, pricing, and billing cycles are shown at checkout and managed by Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method according to your plan. Free trials may apply; if applicable, you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel. Refunds are subject to our refund policy and applicable law.
5. Plan Limits
Usage limits apply per plan (e.g., PDF generations, analyses, events saved per month). If you exceed your plan limits, we may restrict access until the next billing period or until you upgrade. We will notify you when limits are approaching.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable law
- Upload content you do not have the right to use or that infringes third-party rights
- Attempt to circumvent plan limits or security measures
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users
- Resell or sublicense the Service without our permission
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. Intellectual Property
DocLine, including the software, design, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You retain ownership of your content; by using the Service, you grant us the rights necessary to process and analyze it as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT IT WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF VIRUSES. AI-GENERATED DEADLINE DETECTION IS ASSISTIVE, NOT LEGAL ADVICE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING DETECTED DATES AND ENSURING COMPLIANCE WITH YOUR OBLIGATIONS. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCLINE AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, DATA LOSS, OR MISSED DEADLINES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS; IN SUCH CASES, LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED.
10. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or at our discretion with reasonable notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., disclaimers, indemnification, limitation of liability) will survive.
11. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which DocLine operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
